Has anyone out there fiqured out a way to use external effects during direct record mode, meaning direct record effects without going to mix down.
ShadowKat said:When you say 'plug the mic or whatever in the channel all the way', I assuming you mean on the mackie, and when you say 'come out of the monitor out jack (on front of the mixer) to your recorder', where do I go on the recorder??......The aux send on the back panel???.....please clarify.
ShadowKat said:I understand everything about the use of the insert jack.....that's why I'm not getting the effects....I just wanted to make sure you were talking about the mackie at that point....The problem is I am using all the inputs (eight) on the recorder....I could give one up, if I had to. (over head cymbal mic) This sounds like what we use to do in the old days when they didn't have an effects channel for the monitor mix. I didn't realize I would need to use one of the inputs up on my recorder. Also, I use the monitor line out for my crown power amp to run monitors. I guess I could do away with that as well, as far as rehearsal goes, but I really wanted to recreate this at a live gig. I notice you do the same thing, only in reverse.....how are you able to give up your monitor line out for the effects?

You say you can get this effect from the mackie recorded by routing connections as you described in your earlier post......correct?
