Effectron II - Delta Lab ADM 1024

rickb

reelin' thru the years
Just got one locally off CL. Haven't used it but looks to be in good condition, couldn't resist, gear slut I guess. Any users out there with experience and what your likes/dislikes are? Thanks.

It most likely looks to be in good condition because it sat in someones closet for years. They are total junk and only work about half of the time.

lol :D

man ..... you're a bit sandy the last week or so huh?

:laughings::laughings:

I'm not familiar with the thing but a quick perusal of reviews sets it as a medium quality unit soundwise. Actually there were some quite positive reviews which means they're WAY overpraising it.
I didn't see a lot about it breaking down though there were a few such comments.
I'm sure you'll find some use for it. I have stuff all over the map quality-wise and i find a use for just about everything.
What'd you have to give for it?

I love stuff like this, I am always looking out for funky stuff that others don't like.

Have fun.

Alan.

I had one way back in the late 70's early 80's it was way cool for that time period.....but the stuff out there now are head and shoulders above that now.

If I remember right you have set delay times that you can push in the buttons for but,.....the really cool thing about it was it had an infinite repeat button  WOW
Or was that the echotron from delta labs ...man that was a life time ago. :(

Reminds me a bit of the Mutron digital delay I bought with my employee discount from ARP Instruments way back when...

MOFO ....you worked at ARP?seams that I can remember that company only lasting a few years. I had a mutron 111 in my bass set up for years.

Yeah... I survived a half dozen lay-offs and was one of the few remaining when the police came to escort us out of the building on the last day... they were around for around 15 years, the product was quality, but the company was mismanaged.

They threw a lot of money at the Avatar, a guitar synth that never took off. It was just too difficult to use, and none of the marketing people could figure it out. You can hear it on the guitar lead for Heart's magic man (but NOT many other places)

I remember the Avatar ....How much did that go for back then....I can't remember if we had one in our music store or not

I had a 2600 ....... we never used it for much except odd sounds. I remember one time we had it set up to sound like it was saying "oh yeah" when we'd press a key.
Seemed very hi tech at the time.
I wish I still had that thing.
:(

I paid $35 for it and a Tascam 122 that I suspect need a new capstain belt. I'm totally analog based R2R as a hobby, nothing serious, just having some fun, it's just me recording a track at a time. I'll experiment with it tracking guitars and try it with effect S/R when mixing down out of a Tascam 38 and M35 board. I get old stuff, do some refurb, and go from there...much to my wife's chagrin! I generally post in Analog Only but thought it might be worth a try here. Thanks.

We wanted close to three grand for one... invested four million in development, and saw only one million in sales after two years. That in a seven million dollar company.
