editing music from external digital recorder

Hello all. This is my first post and am new to this sort of thing. I have an AW16g 16 track digital recorder and am curious to know what programs I need on my computer so I can edit the tracks from the G. The machine is quite confusing and hopefully there's a software interface that can make the process of editing and mixing down more simplified. Hope anyone can help!
BTW, I have a 770 drum machine, korg guitar effects processor, and some cheapo mics.

I'd recommend you get Cubase SX3. It's the same audio engine used by Nuendo but without the video support. Best investment I've made in software yet.
