Hi

I've acquired an Edirol UA-25 with Sonar LE enclosed and I'm having a lot of grief trying to configure it. Anyone able to help?

I attached it to my PC via USB and it identified it and installed the drivers without incident.

Next problem is to prove that it is accepting input - here's where I've spent hours messing around; getting nowhere.

I installed and loaded Sonar LE and it comes up with a message stating No MIDI outputs selected. At this point I want to record - not output, so I chose continue without MIDI output.

On the input side, this was relatively uneventful at first as I have a Yamaha K/B Midi'd into the UA-25. (I also tried plugging in an electro-acoustic guitar on a separate trial run).

Now here is where it all falls apart. I don't know how to prove whether it is accepting the instrument signals or not. I tried arming the recording and clicking record by selecting "R" on track 1, and then clicked record supposedly to record my "wonderful" (ha!) piece. I don't believe that it's recording at all. If it is, I don't know how to listen to it or save it as a WAV etc.

Any help/advice on some basic config would be very gratefully appreciated.

I don't know Sonar but it sounds to me like you need to find the options/preferences for selecting the input device. Do you have a manual? If so, look for "configuring inputs" or something like that.

make sure its on 44.1 not 192, for some reason this gave me lots of problems on my ua-4FX when i upgraded to windows 7. ended up selling it anyway i dont really like roland anymore
