ECM8000 vs. SM-57

I am getting new mics thanks to everyone's harsh criticism of my "crappy mics", which is better ECM's or SM-57's for drums? I know the SM-57 is better for bass guitar, and guitar and vocals.

They both have there purposes.If you've got the money get two ecm's for overheads, then atleast a sm57 for snare and kick.There are better kick mics out there:d112,beta 52,senn. 421 but if your on a tight budget it's hard to beat 57's

ecm8000s (2) on overheads

for bass guitar a mix of a direct signal and that AT25 on the bass amp would work great....
