Recording Gods,
Help a brother out...
I need some help choosing drum kit mics for my particular situation. I have an AKG 3000B and two 58's that I'm going to use, and I am borrowing a MXL 2003 for a little. Looking to get a nice drum sound for demos and B-sides on my DAW.
After searching the site, it seems that my best choice would be to get a pair of overheads on the cheap. Which is a better choice given the fact that I gotta stop spending for a little... 2 Octava's for $150 (unmatched) or 2 ECM's for $80. I know you get what you pay for... but is there a huge difference in quality?
Lastly, would it be better just to use the AKG 3000b for overheads and just get a decent kick mic instead? I have been triggering kick sounds thus far.
