hello,

I'm using CWPA9 to record audio through my Soundblaster Sound Card. I hook a line out from the headphones jack (1/4"), and into the line in 2 jack (1/4").

It records pretty well, but I get a real hollow or echo sound that is a bit bothersome. Can someone let me know what I need to do to get rid of this?

PS.
On my sound card front panel (Soundblaster Live), there's a dial that can be switched to either line in 2 or mic in 2. What is this difference?

I would connect the mic into MicIn since you're not using a preamp..?

I don't think that PA9 had an input monitoring feature. IIRC this was introduced in Sonar 1.0.
 
there is something called input filtering, but it seems to have something to do with midi, not audio.

I did try recording via mic in instead of line in 2, but there was a lot of distortion. the audio recorded via line in 2 sounded much better, but i still can't figure out how to get rid of the echo
 
A couple of things to try is check the soundblaster virtual mixer. On my computer it drops down on a task bar with other SB Live programs. View play controls and make sure the reverb and whatever effects are off. Also, you should probably run a line out instead of headphones out. In don't know if this is affecting it, but it might.
