Echo mia troubles...

Im going bannanas here...

Im running my mic into my Pre via XLR and my Pre into my MiaMidi via S/PDIF.

The input clock is set to S/PDIF.

I have my headphones plugged into the 1/4 out of the Mia and can hear and see activity on the meter.

First question...

Its only giving me audio in the left channel of my phones. Both channels are active in the meter and I can mute either the left or right channel in the console and the volume lowers, so I think both channels are running into the left. How can I fix this...?

Secondly, In the Mia console, only the left channel (1) of the Digital in shows activity when I check my mic. I can see and hear the activity, but its only registering to the left (1). My pre has two channels. When plugged into channel one I get activity on the left (1) when plugged into the right channel I get activity on the right (2). Is this normal. Is that (1)left and (2)right in the Mia console or are those 2 different ins?

Now lastly and most importantly, I cant get anysound while recording in cakewalk. I tired Microsofts sound recorder and that recorded fine. But cakewalks a no-go...

All and any help is greatly appreciated...

The outputs are mono and not suitable for plugging in headphones.
 
As for recording I figured out most of it.

I had to make some changes in the "control panel".

I had to change sound recording to "analog in" and voice recording to "digital in" Not sure why though...
I had it the other way around, and even tried it with them both set to digital in, but this seems to be the correct set-up.

Now my only issue is with the Mono playback. What can I do to monitor in stereo from the Mia. Am I going to need a second soundcard or what?

The outputs on the Mia are balanced L/R or virtual 1/2. I also use the Mia-Midi and it's a great card. My setup includes a Focusrite twintrack pre that has a monitoring section, so my Mia outputs go back to the Twintrack for monitoring via headphones or studio monitors. You need to run the outputs of the Mia to a source for monitoring in stereo. If headphones are all you plan to use, a mono to stereo Y-splitter can be utilized to bring the two 1/4" outs to a single stereo 1/4" jack.

So both outs have to be used for stereo monitoring, via the splitter as suggested, or chained into some other type of audio hub?

What would I use If I wanted to monitor through multiple sources (ie: more than one set of phones, or phones and monitors etc...)?
 
Thanks alot, that headphone amp was basically what I was looking for.

So a hub like that will take both mono 1/4" outputs of the Mia and in turn create multiple stereo outputs for phones...?
