echo layla problem

I'm hoping for some advice or help with this. I just got a echo layla g3 and installed it. Everything seemed to go smooth, I open up sonar 5 and open a project i've already started. When I hit play the sound comes out at like a different sample rate (real slow, evil sounding). So I read through the manual check all the settings, click on "lock sample rate" and set it to 44,100 as the original was recorded. Nothing seems to make this thing snap onto the right sample rate, it might be the card but i'm thinking it's me.

I did try to record a new song and everything seemed to go smooth until i had to restart and then it was all slow again.

I'm not sure what info you guys might need to help but the "chain" is really as of now just the card into the computer. The computers an amd 4200. I do appologize for my lack of knowledge here, I wish i could be more specefic/helpful.

Thanks in advance

The Sonar's sample rate has to be set to 44,100 as well....

thanks so much for the reply. I checked sonar 100 times and nothing changed, I put an email into echo's tech supoprt hopefully next week they can sort me out.

Thanks again

I had some problems with mine at first doing the same thing. When I tried locking the sample rate it never worked so I changed it to the variable one that changes depending on what your using in your program. I also found that I cant have my recording software (samplitude 7) open at the same time as iTunes or windows media player because it messes with the sample rate in the layla. Theres also something about synchronizing wave devices in the Layla control panel but I cant remember what I have my set on.

No need to lock the sample rate if you're using Sonar. I use Sonar 5, and my Layla runs flawlessly. I have the Syncronize Wave Devices checkbox checked too (think it was by default).

I attached some screen caps of my audio settings in Sonar 5. My buffer setting is at about 256 samples in the Layla control panel, but I can knock it down a notch and have been OK at 128 samples (I'm just more conservative I guess).
