Hey y'all,

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for an easy, preferably free basic synth plug-in that would be good to help learn about how synthesis works (LFO's, etc.). I've messed with synth plugs before, but I usually just end up using a preset sound. I'd like to start trying to create my own sounds, and I figured some would probably be better for learning purposes than others.

Unfortunately, I don't have the cash to build my own right now.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks

I'd recommend Synth1. It's hailed as a vst nord lead! It's free as well. If you go to KVR: Virtual Instruments, Virtual Effects, VST Plugins, Audio Units (AU) & RTAS Audio Plugin News, Reviews and Community - plus iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android Audio App News Too there is a ton of free and affordable software and advice. You should def check it out. Synth1 is also there on "the list" for download.

Thanks much! I've just downloaded it and will check it out. On first glance, it looks a bit more complicated than what I had in mind, but I'll give it a try to see what I can do with it.
