I think I am going to buy one of these today. To replace my existing factory soundcard.
Does anyone use one and how is it?

IS it pretty easy to use etc. Any information wold be helpful.

A lot of people are frustrated by the Patchmix software that comes with it. I personally haven't had any problem with it, but there are more than a couple instances of people just not getting it and tearing their hair out in the process. Learning it is essential for the simplest tasks, including routing audio signals to your audio software...

It's a good card, but the drivers are immature. While its ASIO drivers are fine, not all software uses ASIO drivers. Its WDM drivers just aren't there, and some software requires that (Cool Edit Pro, for one...)

Try looking at M-audio, since their recent price drop put all those Deltas WAY down.

Sklathill, can you give me any advice on how to get sound out of my PC after the install?

I spend a couple hours checking and troubleshooting and all indications are that the card is installed, it says "E-DSP Wave (DCCO)" and it is "working properly" in the relevent places in the device manager. I get no sound at all through the speakers, though.

Any ideas would be appreciated. I did not mess with the Patchmix software yet.

Edit: I got the Patchmix program going, and I have streaming music from the Tech Web of Sound. I see the Main Mix Meter showing something is playing and the Wave L/R also showing something is playing because both have the meter lights going, but still no actual sound.

Note: I have an 1820, not an 0404, so it might not perfectly apply to you.

What do your outputs look like? On the upper right, click outputs, and are the proper MIX and MON boxes checked off?

You should probably check out the E-mu forum at www.productionforums.com/emu for more help.

MIX has an X that points to PCI card S/PDIF
MON has an X points to PCI card 1/2

Thanks for posting the link, I will check out the forum also.

I just checked out the forum and I found a thread with what appears to be the exact same issue I have. I just have to try to decipher some of the steps.

E-MU thread for no sound output

Thanks again.
