CC Deville got accepted to Juilliard...He cant be that stupid.

I agree that Jimi left us too soon because of dumb drug decisions, but along that line I would nominate Randy Rhoads for a dumb decision in a low-flying aircraft.

Am I being too harsh on Christmas?

what about john denver who didn't realize that 'don't drink and drive' also applies to flying.

The truth of the matter is he ran out of gas.

The bass player for Nirvana. Did anyone catch his bass toss at the MTV awards show? He didn't - it hit the guy in the head and almost knocked him out!

Jimi Hendrix

He had the most incredible talent on the electric guitar the world has ever seen....whose future works would have been incredible.....took too many pills and bit the dust.....didn't even live to see 30.

It would have really been a blast to have watched Hendrix roll with the different phases of music throught the 70's, 80's, 90's, and beyond.

Shit, his concerts would probably STILL draw top dollar.

Anyway, Jimi Hendrix was a very intelligent guy...but...cutting out like that was stupid IMO

Can you imagine what Hendrix would sound like today with access to all of our present technology?

He took guitar where no one else had been before, or at least not widely commercially distributed.

I can still remember the first time that I heard Hendrix. "Purple Haze" came on the radio of my 61 Plymouth Valiant (owned in 66). Myself and several other GI's from Luke AFB in Arizona went wild listening to it. We went right to a music store and ordered the record.

A week or two later, I went back to NJ on leave and gave the 45 rpm record of Purple Haze to my younger brother, who was then playing in a commercially successful rock band while he was still in high school. They had never heard of Jimi Hendrix. It blew his band's minds too.

I would pay mucho bucks to attend a live Hendrix concert. If only he were alive and still playing. I miss the experimental/electronic nature of Hendrix' musical efforts. I wish more guitarists would venture in that direction.

hahaha knew someone was gona mention nirvana

Wow, four years before you signed up here, you knew there would be a board where somebody would start a thread about stupid guitarists, and Nirvana would be mentioned, and four years later, you would sign up and tell us?

Deep, man. Far out :p

Quite possibly the most retarded thread since Jordan's mono bullshit.
Please go drown in a fire.

Cheers. Corndog.

Guitarists in general are rather intelligent, although most of them don't bother to learn to read music, the notes of their instrument, or any theoretical applications for music. Most just blindly flail away until they can impress themselves, on second thought, maybe not so intelligent.

I find that guitar players [owners] are,by and large, parrots.
Therefore, all "dumb".
Please let this thread die.

Therefore, all dumb.

i guess i lucked out, i can't parrot sounds and am forced to teach myself notion and such. does it make me sound good? prolly not, someday.... but that's what practice is about, isn't it? besides music takes more than intelligence, it takes soul and some sort of natural talent.
