Drums are killing my mix help me!!!

Ive got a spankin' new song that i really love. But my drums just dont do it any justice and I feel like im taking crazy pills here. I think its my drum set because its probably really shit I thought I tuned the snare pretty good but you guys be the judge. Tell me what I can do to improve my drums.

I used each mic on there own personal track in my tascam fw1082. I also used what I have and thats not a wide variety.

Overhead: Groovetube GT55
Snare: Shure SM-57
Kick: Shure SM-58
Floor Tom: Shure SM-58

I also know that it gets out of time at some parts but thats not what I am talking about I am talking about the sound.

The snare actually improves as the song progresses. Maybe it's where you were hitting it.
They do seem dull though - have you added any compression or effects?
