well im using protools and im actually replacing toms snare and kick and floor tom with drumagog and samples.

Now is there a easy way using protools to line everything up with drumagog cause it has some latency when used and while im using so many tracks with it how can i line them all up perfect.

Just any tips to go about this i know i should line up with overhead track and have tried but i really cant seem to get them in sync perfect

Hey, I know where you're coming from with that problem. I had that same problem when I nearly replaced an entire drumset with drumagog. My only suggestion in reducing the latency of the sampled hits is to really invest in more ram since that plays a major roll when using multiple plug ins. I know it sucks to say that and basically have someone tell you that you can't do what you want to, but that's the truth. I had a lot, and I mean a lot of problems with plugins running very slow and lagging, i then went over to www.newegg.com and picked up a gig of ram for under a $100 and now my cpu and my ibook g4 are running like champs. I hope you solve the problem another way, but that's what i've learned from my own experience with drumagog and many other plugins. take care

I don't know Protools but in Sonar 5 producer, we have something called plugin delay compensation and it automatically does this. You should look into that to see if protools has it.

Protools LE doesn't have delay compensation. On the main page of the Drumagog screen, it will tell you what the latency is. Nudge the snare track (for example) back by the amout of the latency.

There has also been an updated version of Drumagog that has fixed latency. If you use that, you always nudge the tracks backwards 50ms.

Memory will have no effect on the latency of Drumagog.

If the "industry standard" daw would allow you to see waveforms in events while you dragged them ( like *free* apps such as REAPER can do), you could easily line up the peaks from a rendered drumagog track as I do in Vegas

The Drumagog V4 auto-align thing is kinda hit or miss, it seems better for me to leave it off, then line the suckers up afterwards

The auto align feature of Drumagog depends on how the DAW was written. It is never a problem in Cubase or Nuendo, but all DAWs work a little differently.

The cool thing about the plugin telling you the latency, is you can just slide the track over by by a specific amount. You don't need to see the waveform, just the edge of the wave and the timeline.

so latency is the effect of lacking in RAM or Memory ?? not the Soundcard ??

I have my Adobe Audition laging sometimes when i play back around 11 tracks full of effects.. while im playing its like the duration of the song runs slower than usuall.. etc etc..

im using an

Athlon 64 3200+
1GB of RAM Dual Channel.. PC400
and an 80GB 7200 RPM SATA..

which im wondering why is it lagging .. is it my memory or my proccessor ?

No, memory doesn't have anything to do with latency unless you are talking about the latency of your sampler.

Plugins such as reverb, delay, Drumagog, etc.. just take a certain amount of time to process what they are doing. Memory doesn't effect it. If your program has compensation, everything is good.
