Unpossible!
This is a drumtrack with the scratch guitars. I know the timing isn't great, but how bad is it?

Thanks.

:D

actually is a song with guitars, bass, vocals, and great drums. I dont know if you screwed up on your upload, but this sounds great.

Ooops. That is the wrong song! Dammit! :D

Link is now fixed! Sorry.....

WTF?!?!?

If I download via FTP, it's right, if I click on the link I get the other song. Unpossible!

Try this -

I don't know if this is the right file now. But, I don't think the timing's bad at all. Occasionally "loose" is how I'd describe it, but certainly not "off". It reminds of some of the mellow tunes on Side 2 of "Tattoo You", especially "Heaven".

It should be right - no vocals - starts out with just a guitar. Pretty mellow tune. I don't know how it even linked to the other song.

Thanks. It bugs me, but I don't know if I want to say anything. The guitars will be tighter to the drums when they get recorded proper, so that will help too.

Actually, that's what I thought I noticed. The few times it was a little off, it wasn't the drums, it was the guitar(s) that seemed off. I'm sure, with the guitar playing tighter to the drum track, it will be fine.

Sounds to me like the drums - kick specifically - are slightly behind the "groove" of the song. Some of the little fills are too fast, which is pretty common with most people, and the drums come back in too soon. For the most part though, I'm really having to listen hard to hear the timing issues. With the exception of a few small fills, it's pretty damn close.

I think if you just locked the bass in with the kick, the guitars could easily get away with a little breathing room on a song like this.

its kinda off at the beginning but as it go along it gets better

Yeah, I think the drums are dragging in parts. If we match the guitars/bass up to them it will sound better, but the drag and loss of "groove" will drive me crazy.

Doesn't sound bad to me....

Thanks Ed!

Yeah, that's where I don't know if it can be covered up.....that and just after the 2 min mark......

Very slight drag occasionally....

Thanks. Yeah, it drags, and it's a drag...... :D

It sounds like nobody thinks it's taking away from the song too much, so that's good. the song will be very vocal heavy too, so that should help hide the imperfections.

Is it not possible to copy and paste from parts that don't drag into parts that do???

Yeah, that may be possible. I haven't gotten that far yet. That's the next step. This song was probably the best timing wise though, so I wanted to get a gauge of what other musicians thought of the timing. I'm probably hyper-sensitive to timing issues...

I focused on the drums only (My timing is very good) and the more I focused on the drums the worse the timing of the guitars were. Very misleading. The drums are way more in time than the guitars.

Yeah, exactly. That's what I said. :)

They make it worse, most definitely. They do drag in spots though. Especially in the beggining at just after the 2 min mark. That's where they are the most noticable. Here's just the drum tracks (minus tom mics) -
