Hey, I posted a similar question in the drums and percussion forum a few days ago but nobody answered it. Anyway, I have limited space so I wanted to buy drum sampling software and I was wondering what you all thought was the best value. Obviously money is an issue, so cheaper the better, but i still want it to sound pretty good (who doesnt?) One other factor to consider is ease of use - I'm not too technologically savvy, and know next to nothing about MIDI, so is there anything out there where I could construct beats solely on the program? Thanks...

Best is a matter of opinion... several of the major players have offerings at different levels... so EZ Drummer might be enough for you, or you might want the extra quality of Superior Drummer etc. Depends upon your needs.

I'm using Addicitive Drums + AD Retro pack which has more than enough things to hit to keep me happy at the moment. Bought together I think it all cost $300US....

What's your budget?

Plus - I also know absolutey jack all about MIDI.... you just need a sequencer program, I use Reaper's inbuilt functionality - load up the drums and away you go..

You also get thousands of sample beats with Addictive which you can use, alter etc.. Handy.

I too rock the Addictive Drums. It has become my all-arounder drum plugin.

EZ drummer is going for $79 just now at streetwater...the add on packs are going for $40....for the value that is a pretty excellent deal
