I am trying to put together the best/most reasonably priced set up I can. That is to say, my budget is tight. I'm looking at Reaper right now, and I'm impressed. Could anyone recommend drum software that is the best bang for the buck? I've looked at Easy drummer, session drummer, BSD and a few others, but they're too expensive for me right now. I'm a signer and play guitar -- not a drummer -- I need something that sounds good, but it user-friendly. Any advice is much appreciated. I love this site! :)

Check out PC DRUMMER. I download the trial, and played with it last night. I think the full program is like $50. Very easy to use. Not quite what I was looking for, but you may like it.

Kitcore is $49 and has some excellent samples

they also have a free version of drumcore which will get you going with a few kits

if you decide to splash out on more expensive software dont forget BFD2 Eco which is excellent value and beats the sound of EZ drummer imho
