okay gents, I need your experienced knowledge!!!

I'm running Cubase SX with a Firepod,

I'm looking into getting 2 mics for drum overheads. This would be a fairly easy decision were there not a catch... I am limited to about $200 for each mic... so, the cheaper the better!!! I'm gonna do a four mic deal with an Audix D6 on kick (and maybe a tunnel using a speaker converted to mic for extra bass), an sm 57 on snare, and 2 overheads...

Here's what I've been looking at...

CAD GXL3000 (i've read very good things in EQ)
AKG Perception 200 (prolly a no)
Project Studios C1
AKG C2000B

any ideas??? I want crisp cymbols without compromising a good rich tom sound!!!

Thanks sooooo much!!!

I just ordered a pair of Audix TR-40 omnis for overheads. They're $190.00 a piece. Harvey Gerst likes them, and I believe Chessrock has a pair too. I like audix and have a few of their other mics. Just one more option to consider!

There has already been 2 or 3 threads devoted to this, just this week alone...tons more in the last month or 2.
