currently i have a Zoom rhythm track 123. it essentially covers most/many bases. sounds good, and is easy.

BUT ... it only does 4/4 and 3/4 time. I do lots of stuff in 5/4 as well as 7/4 and other odd meters. anyone recommend a machine that could cover that without breaking the bank?

thanks in advance.

Fruity Loops....

Yep. Fruity loops is the best. you can get fruity loops 3 at www.musiciansfriend.com for $100.

But if you want a drummachine, then look into the Roland/Boss Drum Machines. Roland is uslily the first to come out with break-though technoigy.

i'll try and DL the trial version and seeif I like it. I generally shy away from the computer based stuff. but will try it out.

thanks

At first, if you've had no expereants with computer base drum machines, then, fruity loops can be a little trick, but when you get use to it, it's real fast. I use FL 2, so if you need to know how to do what, PM me.

ditto fruity... amazing IMHO, just load any wav sample in it and tweak/twist to your hearts desire... fantastic, absolute...

I would suggest a Yamaha QY-100. It is much more than
a drum machine (complete MIDI sound module, sequencer
with MULTIPLE tracks per pattern track, efx, etc.).
It can do 1-16/4 and 1-16/8 time signatures.
I have an old QY-22 and have been very happy with it for many
years now. Both are user friendly and have a large easy to
read display. I would take it's interface over any of roland's
drum machines any day.
