I found a Roland v-drum kit for 1,800 on Craigslist in my area. Says its in excellent condition and comes with everything but doesn't that seem cheap?
It's important to test before you buy. You want to make sure all the pads are touch responsive and not going to miss out when the drummer does some subtle ghosting and stuff. It's easy to not catch that if all one does is whack each pad. Test brother man, test !

Good call on the ghosting. As I've said, I'm not a drummer so probably would be a good idea to bring my drummer along to test haha

haha didn't see the other MAIN comments you made before I replied.

Thanks for all that! We're in a 450 seat sanctuary and it's filled most of the time to approx. 200-250. The problem is that the congregation are set in their way so to speak. Its very hard for the worship team to get them into the music and they are constantly complaining about the sound when they should be not even thinking about it!

You're right when you say "in many a church musical set up, you'll find a mixture of abilities but because often the musicians and singers are volunteering their services, they'll be taken, regardless of their standard." Its hard to have a tight team when the majority of them are not near a professional level by any means. I always feel held back because of that.

I think in the near future, a big change is going to happen and we're going to be BLOWING THE ROOF OFF not just because we can, but because that's our desire to 'play skillfully with a loud noise' ;)
