OK - here's my drum set:
I'm seeking general advice -- I would *prefer* advice from someone with credentials, like Dr. Zaragemca, but I'll take what I can get. I want to be ready for some recitals when we're allowed to go back to Galveston.
This kid who lives in my house was in band when he was in third grade, and opted to play the drums -- we had to rent a snare, and found out that it was like $20 more to just buy it, so we did. It also came with a nifty xylophone (not pictured) that you use the same stand for. He opted to play guitar and bagpipes later, so I recently re-discovered and deployed this awesome snare.
I got the cymbal for about $17 at GC a few months ago (it's a "12 in. Chinese" cymbal), and recently, the MF stupid buy was for $30 cymbal stands -- so now I'm in business.
Is the cymbal upside down? Should the label be facing up or down?
I also have drum sticks that work:
