It depends on what kind of drums you have. I don't listen to any of those bands, but a lot of metal drummers just use the basic clear emperor batter w/ ambassador reso on toms. For bass drum, the Remo clear Powerstroke III also makes for a nice punchy metal sound. But like I said, if you are trying to make your drums sound like a drummer who uses mahogany drums, and you have birch drums, you are going to get a way different sound even if you use the same heads and tuning as that player. Also, some drummers run their drums through all kinds of compressors and effects. For example, Joey Jordison's (Slipknot) drum sound on their IOWA cd. You can't get that sound without using the same effects and processors as he does.
