Acoustic drums for sure. If I need to make them sound "electronic", I just process them in Ableton Live.

I own an acoustic kit, a cheapo CB kit that has served me amazingly well over the years (learn to tune people!) I keep wanting to upgrade but can't justify it just yet over other gear as I no longer play live.

But for recording purposes, I use Superior Drummer with a couple SDX expansions and most of the EZX. Also have Battery 3.

i might get something i can hit with sticks next....slowly but surely :)

I don't think kcearl is strong enough to swing a stick, much less a hammer. That's why he uses that Nintendo thing. :D

I wish I had space for an acoustic kit, but alas, I dont...

So I usually use Session Drummer 3, and occasionaly Battery.

I record with both electronic and acoustic drums (Sonor Designer and Roland TD12)
I also perform live on boith, depending on the gig and volume limitation.

The Roland is certainly handy for the working drummer, but Ill take the real thing anyday!
