Hey, im going to be buying some mics soon for drums and a vocal mic. I've never really recorded drums before but i want to start with a four drum mic setup and then go from there as i learn. I have an sm57, which i guess i could use for snare. Then i was thinking about getting a akg d112 for the kick drum and for overheads, a pair of Rode NT5. What do you guys think about that setup and in your opinion what would be better.
For vocal mic i really am not sure what i want. I haven't tried much mics out and if i did, im not sure if i would be able to tell a difference because im new to recording. I wanna get a good mic though and i am willing to spend around 1000 for now. I just would like suggestions for an all around good mic that can record differentkinds of voices well etc...
thanks alot for any replies and suggestions
