Hi,
this is the first mix&master of our new album. What du you think? What we're doing right and what we're doing wrong?

Thank you!

I thought the playing/singing was real good. I thought the recording quality was pretty good. Except for maybe the drums.

The harmonica level is quite a bit too loud.

The vocal is just a bit on the harsh side. Maybe notch it out somewhere in the 2400hz-2800hz range. Maybe do something similar with the harmonica, tho to a lesser extent.

The snare could use a little more snap. It sounds behind everything else. maybe a small boost around 5K or so. I can't really hear the kick much at all. Cymbals were OK, maybe just a tad dull.

Bass sounds really cool. I might nudge it up a db or two.

Lead guitar sounds cool too.

I don't usually say this, but overall it could use a little more reverb/space. Just a small hint. It shouldn't be real roomy. But I'd like it a little less dry. Like I say, I hardly ever say that.

vocals are too clean for this style, needs distortion, too sibilant as well, try a de-esser, maybe it's the dryness of the mix that makes me think it's too clean...

I would bring the bass guitar forward a bit in the mix, turn down the overheads, and use a lot more distortion to get a more blues like sound, something like soundtoys decapitator is what this track needs, or some re-amping. I agree with everything Triple M says apart from the cymbals to my ears they sound too bright, overall it needs more reverb or some slap back echo would be really good especially on the lead vocals. The mix you have presented isn't bad though, just needs a little finessing

Musicianship is excellent. More needs to be made of the rhythm section; presently the harmonica and vocal are dominating too much. As TripleM says the mix is just a little too dry. Just a smidgin, though, I realise this style needs to be fairly dry. Agree about the cymbals, those are a little harsh. On the whole, the mix lacks warmth, but that's because the upper-mid and treble elements are overpowering it a bit, I think.

But the performance shines out.

Thank you very much for your feedback, that's the new version

changes:
- less Harp
- more Reverb
- saturation plugin on the vocals
- slighly more bass guitar

EDIT:
the old version

You should leave the old mix up so people can compare them. That's how we all learn. :)

Sounding pretty good. What are your own thoughts on it?

I reuploaded it :)

I was stuck but you helped me out, your comments where plausible and motivating. I'm not 100% satisfied with the mastering, made by a friend of mine. He has done a great job but i'd like to have less treble and more bass, a matter of taste. So, it isn't fished yet :) and if you aren't satisfied with me work, please let me know.
We use the track for a preview (for crowd funding) for the upcoming album of our band.

If somebody wants to compare the pre-master and master

I preferred the first mix for everything but the vocal. I think that distortion plugin made the vox better.
