Searching for the sound
I just ran across this stuff at the local Home Depot (Wharehouse type home supply store) for ~ $6.50US for a 2'x2' square.

http://www.dricore.com/how.htm

Anyone seen, heard of or used it at all?

I'm sure it does not have the isolation strengths of a frame on neoprene but, I was thinking of this stack up:

hardwood or (carpet + pad) finish
--------------------
5/8" OSB layer (not nailed)
--------------------
Pergo rubber "Silent Floor" layer
--------------------
Dricore sub floor

Thoughts?
Kevin.

Looks interesting Kevin - I wonder how it compares costwise to a simple MTA floor sitting on plastic.

Yeah, you know, I saw it from a little ways off and was hoping the bottom was rubber and not hard plastic... too much to ask for I guess :D

I assume the biggest advantage of this over just OSB and plastic is that air can circulate through and keep moisture build up down. Plus getting the wood off of the concrete provides some insulation.

Overall, I'm still undecided over the stuff.

Cheers
Kevin.

i suppose I haven't come across it is cos we don't build cellars in OZ like you do in the US. In your context I can understand where they are coming from.

cheers
