I totally agree with you. Until I read the lyrics a few weeks ago, I always thought it was "Sing women" also. That's why I tried not to over-pronounce the "With me". I sort of slurred it. But it's also one of the lines I'm going to re-do one day, and I'll sing it closer to "Sing women" because that's really what it sounds like to me. I should have done this tune without reading the lyrics. I honestly think I would have sounded closer to the original if I sang the (wrong) lyrics the way I've been singing them for over 30 years."Sing women sing for the year, sing for the laugh and sing for the tear. I'll get around to re-doing this one day. But, to be honest, since it's only a cover, I've pretty much already lost interest and have started working on an original. Maybe one day, I'll force myself to re-sing this.
