Just a few questions about this machine
First, when recording direct,at what volume do you suggest I set it at to get the best sounfd going into an analog machine.
Also, where dooes this rank as far as overall drum sounds for drum machines, and what are some of the better ones out there in the genre of electronic kits.

What sounds best is really a subjective thing.

I had the Alesis SR-16 for years and tired of the same old sounds so I bought a DR-770. I usually just tweak the presets so I am not much of a programmer. I just want a good rythum track to lay down.

Soon I tired of the Dr-770, so I ended up synching the two together. I get a very cool two drummer sound panned left and right. Adding other persusion treally livens things up.

As for recording levels, I like to set my output device as high as possible and adjust the trim (input) levels to run as hot as possible without going over 0 dB. If your running tape, don't worry about going aver 0 dB occasionally...some tape saturation is fairly common.

Experiment and find out what sounds good to you.
