I have a Dr. 660 with a crushed power supply (don't ask)

I went out to Radio Shmuck and got a 12Volt 550mA supply with a jack that fits.

Question: Positive or Negative tip polarity?

Anyone?

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Not everyone at once...... ;)

hmmmmmmm.....ok. How about this?

Does anyone know if I'll do serious damage to my drum machine if I guess wrong?

thanks,

No problemo

Having the polarity set incorrectly won't kill the box; it will either not work or will work badly. To find out what you should have, you could look on the wall-wart portion of the power supply. There is usually a little diagram either on a label or molded into the casing. Either way, you should be okay with the trial-and-error method.

Did you run over it with a truck or something? Crushing those things takes a bit of force. Just be thankful it wasn't a part of the body that got in the way instead of the wall-wart. You usually have to really work at it to damage those things. Anyway, rock on!

Damn good guess!!!!!!

I actually just went through a relocation by my company. Must've fell out of a box the movers were carrying and got under the truck. The thing is....the bastards put it back in the box post-crushing!

Boss doesn't put that little circle and line diagram on their Power Supplies because they prefer you spend a fortune on BOSS replacements. There is nothing on the label, nothing on the unit, nothing in the manual.....info blackout.

I was worried though because the replacement unit says to make sure you have the tip-polarity set right or else! I'm sure they are just covering their ass in event of someone coming back to them with a fried piece of gear.

thanks for the response.
