DR-05 external mic power

Can anyone tell me if this is enough to power a regular condenser mic such as the AT2035? Would it be better to use an external 48v phantom supply?

Here's what I heard from Tascam support

Hello Terry,

48 volt phantom power is not available on the DR-05. It use what is called "plugin-power" which is even less than 16 volts. Stereo mics with an 1/8" inch jack like our older TM-ST2 mic can be used.
