I am attempting to export my master recording to my PC through my USB connection, on which I am runnning Windows XP. I followed the manual exactly. My system is listing the DP01-FX as an unidentified USB device for which no driver is installed, therefore I cannot export the master. Any ideas? Thank you.

1) connect the DP01 to the PC.
2) open the DP01's drive
3) then copy the files from the DP01 to the PC.

When you first connect the portastudio, the PC does not recognize it. Once you open the drive, the PC will.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!

I tried to import some wave files from my computer into my DP-01 but it didn't work. I opened the FAT partition and connected it correctly but I got a message saying that I'm connecting a high speed USB device to a non-high speed USB port (my computer is pretty old). Do you guys know if there's any way I can still import wave files using my crappy computer? I tried it three times and it acts like it's doing something but when I go into the "import wave" section it's always empty.

If you're using Win98 or lower, there's nothing you can do but update to XP; if you're using USB 1 (instead of 2 or later), you can try to add a USB card with USB 2, but you'll still need XP.

I am using Windows XP. It takes up quite a bit of harddrive space trying to run it but it runs okay. I don't think that's the problem. I think it's the USB port. I don't know what kind it is but even if it's type 1 shouldn't it still be able to do it (albeit slower)?

I finally got it to work yesterday. I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was trying to export the wave files from a music editing program I have but it didn't transfer them properly. So I just did the ol' drag and drop and it worked perfectly. Sweet! :D

That's nice. Really, DP01's are a breeze to use, compared to fostex's. Once you get the hang of it, you're flying!
Cheers!
