doubling up the kick?

You come here and assert yourself as though you were an expert, push the issue and your ignorance to the point of pressing others (me) into profanity out of frustration in trying to correct things back the truth and now you are playing the victim and telling us you really have a lack of experience.

Well... no shit!

Guess what? We all start out that way!

It's when we have the wisdom to shut up and listen to more experienced folks and be enough of a man to admit when we're wrong...THAT'S when you start to learn!

Trust me! There are guys here that pounded that into MY head YEARS ago!

I didn't get much sympathy from them either.

When did I ever claim to be an expert? I got involved in a discussion and was immediately insulted by you and other members. I'm not looking for sympathy from you. I just hope you realize that if you want to get your point across insults and smart ass comments aren't the way to do it. It's not like I had to "push" you very far before you showed your ass.

If it truly is your goal to inform and educate perhaps a little more patience and a little less attitude will go a long way?

I learned some interesting stuff in this thread some people made some good points and I learned a few cool tricks. I'm definitely trying that basketball thing as soon as the weather turns here.

I hope to get some good advice from some of the more experienced members when we finally get our acoustic kit set up and miced.

This thread could have been a good opportunity to discuss all kinds of different ways to get cool sounding kick drums if it hadn't almost immediately degraded in to a bunch of name calling and dick waving.

I certainly don't want to dismiss your knowledge and abilities I haven't heard any of your tracks but I have listened to a few of RAMI's and I know I certainly could learn a lot from him.

It's honestly just hard for me to listen to somebody when they introduce themselves to me by calling me an idiot.

Maybe we can both take a few lessons away from this thread? It certainly wasn't my intent to insult of frustrate anyone.

I hope we can both walk away from this with no hard feelings?

Anyway I'm done for the night. I'm 3 margaritas in at this point and if I'm not careful it will be me who's waving his dick around.:)

margarita on the rocks, no salt. Whiskey and ginger ale. The 2 best drinks ever.

Surely it'll be out of phase if you double the same track?

I've decided to double my ride cymbal instead. I'm thinking outside the box.

If you move it yeah, but we're talking digital, meaning perfectly lining up two tracks with the exact same information IS possible: thus, it will just be louder. Now please re-read every post in this thread, then forget that it ever existed.

I prefer my whiskey on the rocks... captain morgans and ginger ale though.

None of it sounds so great this morning though.:(

Well, do yourself a favor Yonce, since you're expecting "nice" discussions here at HR.com. Don't ever put your head in the "Cave".

You'll get eaten alive.:D

You have probably noticed that I don't post there. The internet is full of places to go if I'm looking for a flame war. That's not what I come to HR.com for though. You'd be surprised, I can give as good as I get ...... if a fight is what I'm looking for.

The cave reminds me of the monty python sketch......

Yes, but I came here for an argument!!

OH! Oh! I'm sorry! This is abuse!

Oh! Oh I see!

Aha! No, you want room 12A, next door.

Oh...Sorry...

Stupid git......:)

Holy shit you need to try Sailor Jerry's!

Never tried it.... I'll have to check it out. Have you ever had Lady Bligh?
Tastes just like the captain just half as expensive. Wicked hangover tackle though.

ok i know this thread is about dead......but RAMI is right....however, doubling the same track IS the same track...weather you eq it different or compress....it's still the SAME TRACK just one is messed with. what i didnt see anyone try to explain was that if he were to put two different mics, one in the kick and one in front of the kick, because the mic charecteristics are different, and eqing them differently(to tape),......and recording them.....THAT is two different TRACKS. then blending the two.... which is what lots of people do, i do it with my Audix D6 and a Yamaha Subkick. just thought id throw that in.

whiskey ginger has to be on the rocks. I like just whiskey on the rocks, but it's got to be Jameson. This reminds me of one time when I was drinking in the U district in seattle. I just got a shot of whiskey and beer. I drank the shot while the bar tender was still getting my beer and this older guy (probably 60) that was right next to me at the bar was very surprised to see that. I guess if you're a hip'ish looking kid drinking in the U district you must be a wuss drinker.

Not a fan of the rum at all though. The first time I ever got drunk I drank rum and to this day I can barely smell it without dry heaving.

This thread is dead, right? Hijacking it at this point isn't hurting anyones feelings is it?
