I have a Technics RS T130 double tape deck cassette player/recorder.
I connected my mixer to the back of the cassette deck with rca cables, and tried to record. I see the sound levels moving, and hear whats going into the
cassette deck. When I stop the recording I rewind, then playback, and yet I dont hear anything that I recorded. So I tried recording a Bachmantuneroverdrive tape to the blank tape. Sure enough I got it to work.
So is there something I'm doing wrong?

It doesn't sound like user error, if you are monitoring the deck from its own headphone jack, have the levels set decently on it?

I assume you can only hear the input source on that deck when it's in record pause mode and the input level control is affecting the level you hear in the headphones, right?

And you verified that you plugged the mixer's stereo outs to the line ins on the tape deck and NOT into the play jacks?

Cheers! :)

Thanks for the help. Seems like I had a dumb blonde moment. I got it to work. Thanks!

I was had the RCA's connected to the OUTPUT of the tape deck. I swear I couldn't make out the tiny OUTPUT letters before... haha

Get some reading glasses, dude! :D

I keep a pair handy, myself. ;)

Cheers! :)
