Hi everyone. A while back, i posted a thread about how my nady scm 950 sounded loads better than my studio projects c1. Don't pay any attention to that thread. I was very sick at the time and my ears were congested so my judgment was horrible. The 950 is an ok budget mic but the SP budget mic is better. I played around with positions till i came up with the best sounding position i've ever heard with this mic. Basically, the best vocal sound i've ever made at home. What i did is mount the mic upside down and then tilt the boom arm forward to the point that the center of the body of the mic would touch my nose and the diaphram would be slightly angled below my mouth. Kinda hard to explain that position but it's awesome. I would just take a picture and post it but i don't have a digital camera.

actually, one time i was congested and everything sounded out of tune to me. I think i had some fluid in my ears or something, it was really weird. I couldn't figure out why our piano was suddenly so out of tune, and i couldn't get my guitar to ever be in tune......but it just took a little while to go back to normal

Another good reason not to record with a cold is that you don't want to get the cold germs imbedded in your mics or pop screen. Bleah!
