That is without doubt one of the strangest machines I've ever seen. My initial impression was that it was made with Photoshop.
 
Actually seen one of those dubbing Docorders, little strange :)
 
The upper section is the playback version, lower section dub/record.
Look on the headstack assembly and you see a second slot on the upper left side, that's for the dub/record tape.:)

What I can't work out is how the tape gets to the takeup spool on the top without hitting or rubbing against the lower takeup spool. Same for the feed spools, come to that.
 
I've seen one of these. The upper reels are offset outward slightly to allow the tape to clear the lower reels.

Yes, it is a strange beast.
 
Nothing against the Dokorder but my vote goes to the TASCAM 3816!:eek::eek::D:D
