well...the title suckered me in!!

reminds me of Jimmy Buffet.

a little 'tinny' sounding and extra crispy...especially on the snare.
the guitars are a little mild on the "dynamic" side of things...and kinda belt it out all the way thru.

the bg vocal coming in on the left is ok...but the song needs more wide spread stereo separation to make the vocals so far off to the left, not seem so unusual.

it also sounds like the sound on your lead vocals change when the bg vocals come in too.. kinda hollow sounding, like a phase problem. punch in??

nice tune, however.

nice tune and peppy rythym. Id like a little warmer sound on the guitars. The bass drum was a lil busy for me during the chorus.

Yo... heard this while ye olde server was down (by clickin yer link on NWR's homepage...)

I'll have to listen to it again at home, Mike, cuz right now I'm stealin' some time from the Post Office by bein here :p

Nice Tune !

Upbeat Tempo and a nice flow and arrangement.
A definate Buffet feel.
As for the mix all I could say is the drums/percussion seem a bit muffled at times but overall the levels and tones are sweet. Nice solos, really capture the feel for the tune!
This is probably one of the best mixes I have heard from you.
Nice Job!

YOU'RE A POSTAL WORKER??? Hey man, about the rude things I may have said to you in the past....TOTALLY kidding. (got any guns?).

Oh yeah, and before I forget...

THIS IS THE GREATEST BBS ON THE PLANET, AND I'M SORRY I HAVEN'T LISTENED TO YOUR TUNE YET, MIKE, BUT I'LL GET THERE AS SOON AS I CAN, AND THIS CLINIC IS NOW MY HOMEPAGE AGAIN, SO YEEEEEE-HAW

Mike;

Cool tune, Bro! Love the feel! Drums are a bit muffled but a good mix and the solos are really nice.

Blessings!!!

Thank you for the listens my brothers!!!
It is definately a phasing problem when the b/g vocal comes in. It is a duplicate of the original vocal just transformed to be a female voice, hence the problem. I usually just let the drum machine go when I do my songs but everyone always says the drums sound boring so that is something that I have got to work on. I thought that the vocals had a lo-fi sound to them. I am suprised by the positive feedback on this one, kinda sounds like a kids song to me.

God is good!!
Mike

Wow, I really thought that was a woman on the bg vocals. Fooled me!

Great song, KE. I only have a few quibbles. That shaker sound that comes around 2:10 is pretty loud. I don't mind the the drums, arrangement-wise, but I'd eq the bass drum a bit differently I think - it's a little too thumpy for my taste. And I'd roll off a little of the high end on the whole mix. It has a slight harshness - particularly on the cymbols and the vox. This is a gaffe I'm prone to myself, so I'm getting very sensative to it.

I love the tune. This is definitely one worth working out the kinks on. I hear the Buffet influence, but it's not overwhelming. It'd be a kick to hear this one live, I'm sure,

nice job,
Chris

Nice to have ya back again, King... (forgot if I already mentioned that or not...) ... both you and theron disappearing at the same time... (people were talking :D ;))

Nice little song. Kids, no doubt, would enjoy it.

There's some swirly, phasey stuff happening on the drums... specifically the kick/snare... in the beginning of the track... could also be compression... hard to tell on these speakers... definite "swishing" effect on 'em...

Is this an analog recording? Sometimes my old recordings to cassette multitrack would have drum-machine snares sounding like that...

Also... the bass drum has a bit of haze around it... have you boosted highs on it at all?

Keep us posted on the progress

I really think that the drum problems are bad eq-ing of the drums on my part. Also there are 2 different drum machines on there. a Boss Dr-5 and the trusty Zoom. In my mixes drums always get the least amount of attention since I am not a drummer.

Good tune. I liked the lead guitar playing. It sounds clean and crisp.

I think the bass guitar needs more definition to bring it out in the mix. It sounds muffled or muddy for this type of music. It doesn't need to be louder, just more defined, and a little rounder.

Like the others have said, think the drums sound muffled too. Especially the kick. It sounds muddy. I'm hearing a lot of beater but not enough drum. Over-compressed maybe?

Your singing is good. I thought your vocal was a little low in the mix. Bring that up a bit. Some of the words were hard to understand.

I liked the transition from verse to chorus. It flowed well. Good job overall. Just touch up the low end some.

Hey King, sorry, i've been absent for a while too. Been unusually incredibly busy.
I heard "Living in me" by mistake at first.....
Your dogs song sounds like fun. Would go well in a dog film, so to speak. Cause of the fun vibe it puts out, and it made me visualise some dog scenarios whilst listening. A little different for you but good all the same.

Well I Love dogs so this is right up my alley. I thought the vocals sounded fairly good....the bass was indestinct but everything else came through ok. It sounded a little too crisp and I agree with everyone else about the drums being subdued.
Nice tune.............

good tune!

everyone else covered what I was thinking.. It sounds like some of the wrong highs were boosted.. not sure, but this is a feel good tune! dig it!

I don't have any sound advice, and I wouldn't know a drum machine if one walked up to me on the street and asked me for a BPM. I just wanted to let you know that I can tell you put some thought into this one, and it shows. Come back here more

The guitars are kinda "canned", need a little more meat on the rhythm and some reverb on the lead (it's waaay too dry ;) ). I like the almost Dick Dale lead though, it's a keeper.

I like your vocals (including the offset backup vox). The drums aren't the greatest, the shaker is a tad too loud.

Overall this is a good recording, could be a great recording with just a few minor touches.

Funny, I don't normally listen to "this style" music, but for whatever reason I click your tunes now (liked the Jesus tune :p ) and actually listen to them all the way through... credit to your pop mastery.

very buffetesque!

fun tune, king!!!!!! i can relate to this, i love my dawgies!!!!!
my dog's already think they are in heaven!!:D hell, they eat betten than i do! but i would have it no other way!!
