I posted a tune at RP entitled Big Freeze due to the fact it's so cold here at the moment. Dogman came up with some appropriate lyrics, despite the fact it's over a hundred where he lives (I know this because he very kindly posted a pic of his thermometer, made me feel so much better).

I don't know how he does it but I sure do appreciate it

Sounds deathly metal to me. I haven't a clue about the genre personaly so I can't offer any critique.
Has some Rammestien humour to it.

Hey it's BullDog!!!!!!!

The vocals have been captured with a clarity and definition that has seen you continually advance in your vocal work Dogman!!...I am proud of ya son!! :D
The music in this piece is quite different and unique in my opinion, very original sounding to me. The guitar playing as in the choice of chord voicings are very fitting. I am going for another listen.
The mix overall could benefit from a boost across the board in the upper-mids in general to clear the mix up a little and bring some separation to the tune in regards to all the instruments and what I perceive to be just a little muddiness.

I like this piece though, it does have a little White Zombie style lurking in there now that I think about it!

Good stuff!!

I am going for another listen.

Gorty :)

Bulls Hit, I like this mix...sounds pretty good. And we still got the heat...109 yesterday, and it only dropped to 85 overnight. Luckily I get to irrigate tonight...should keep me cool :D

Gort, thanks man....I've actually been trying to work on my guitar and voice some, but I'm still bad at practicing....
Glad you liked it though....always fun to work on these collabs.... :D

Hey Dogman, nice job on the vox. The unique growl-chant style you do has gotten much more solid in intonation, to my ear. I'd hit it with a de-esser.

Tim

Good solid vocals Dogman. Cool lyrics with a strong tale to tell that matches the tone of the music. I like your doubling vocals - makes them very "big".

The music has some very diverse sounds also. Sounds like mainly synths (distorted), but sounds like guitar/bass making others.

Maybe you can let us know what you used - it's metal with a different sound to it.

Drums are nice and punchy

Cool and different......

:) :) :)

Thanks guys....Bulls Hit is the one who mixed this...I just did a few takes, and he put it together. His stuff always seems to have a bunch of mood changes, so I just wrote some abstract stuff that fit a theme, and went with it. Makes it fun that way...it can go in any direction... :D

Heh yeah I like the stuff that goes in any direction.
Speaking of liking stuff, you're avatar man - there's a couple of zepellins in there. I'd like to see her jogging :D

rayc - Ed thought it sounded a little like Rammstein too. I haven't heard a lot of their stuff so any similarity is probably coincidental. Thanks man

Gorty - Thanks for the indepth review man. I think you're right about the mix needing a bit of a shine up. I tuned the guitar down to C#, trying to go for a heavier sound, so there's probably some room in that range you're talking about. Cheers

Timothy Lawler - A de-esser is the one tool missing from my arsenal. Can you do the same thing with eq or multiband? I agree with your commentson the vox. I also like the way Ed hit the rythym on this one. Thanks for the listen

ido1957 - The drums & guitar are real but there's no bass on this one, just softsynths to hold up the bottom end. I recently acquired a Novation controller and I've been messing around with that in Project 5. Thanks for checking it out

Dogman - As ever, great collabbing with you! Thanks man :D

Damn, I can't listen. Is this the same tune you 2 have been collab-ing on for a while, with the huge-ass drum sound? If so, I can't wait to hear it again. If not, I can't wait to hear it for the first time. I'll be listening later. :)

You're welcome Bulls Hit,

Tuned down to C# ......Interesting!..I knew there was something in the guitars and their tone/voicings/tuning that was quite unique..I just couldn't put my finger on it at a glance!

Thanx again Bulls Hit and Dogman for sharing!

Gorty :)

Digging this.

The synths work really really well. Very artsy.
