i did! it's just that after you told me not to i have'n! sence you have told me not to i have not posted on post.

lol it's ok Zeke calm down. What type of mixer are you currently using? What do you record to?

well,

first of all i'm sorry if i sounded like a crazy #$%**&^.

i'm not really using a mixer right now. i use the one on my daw. one of the main points that i'm wanting a mixer is cause the recorder only has 2 xlr inputs and the rest are 1/4". and for getting a little smoother sound.

what recorder are you using?

i have the mackie 1604 vlz pro, and i really dig it. i'm just starting to contemplate going to a music store to demo the Grace Model 101 based on user reviews and recording mag article.

if you need a mixer because you'll be either recording and/or playing back from multiple sources at once, then i believe the 1604 is a great way to go.

if you know that you are only going to be recording one or two tracks at a time, i'd skip the mackie and use that $900 towards a stereo preamp.

Depends on what sort of mackie...XDR preamps (like on VLZ series) are good...I've got a CFX series mixer, and I don't like it's pre amps...but thats my live mixer and I use just sometimes for recording..(playing back..monitoring..etc.)
