Does it make any difference to use a preamp for a dynamic mic since the mic doesn't need a higher powered voltage???? Other than the power I am talking about, does a premap make a better sound, filter the unwanted noise, or change the tone to a sound from a dynamic mic?

With few exceptions, all mics require a pre amp. I think you're confusing phantom power required be condesor mics. The voltage generated by most all mics needs to be amplified to a usable level for mixers/recorders.

Im still not completely sure why you are asking, but a good preamp does give a better sound and a better tone with a better dynamic range......

It helps but you can get away without it if you dont care about the sound.

Computer recording??

If by 'no preamp' you mean plugging your mic straight into the 'mic in' on a soundblaster soundcard, you'd really be a lot better off with a real preamp than the cheap built-in preamp on the SB.

Hell yeah you need a preamp. Some cheapies are the Art MP (1 channel, $99), and the PreSonus Blue Tube (2 channel, $160). The Blue Tube gives you better bang-for-buck because of the one extra channel @ $20 cheaper.

LooK...

By the way how did you sneak that large of an avitar on this? I tried one that was only like 4 pixels bigger than 60x60 and the system would not allow it.
