Does Firewire 410 do stand alone?

Does anyone know if the Firewire 410 can be used as a stand alone mic-pre and A/D converter, with no computer?

Given that a DC supply is available I would infer that you can use it as a standalone, but M-Audio is your best resource to answer this question.

I would worry that without a computer/control panel you might not be able to adjust some key setting like wordclock. I also wonder if there was a better way to get preamps and A/D conversion without buying a unit designed as a computer interface.

I've gone through the manual just a couple of days ago just for this reason but I couldn't find anything about using it as a standalone unit....
