Does Cubase SE multitrack?

I know this seems like a retarded question, but does Cubase SE multitrack. I'm a pro tools mac user and love everything about it eventhough most people don't. Before I ever ventured into digidesigns world I bought cubase se and put it on my pc. I have a cheap ass soundblaster card( you all don't have to say a thing about it I know its about the worst thing I can have) and it does have lightpipe on it. If I hook up say my old behringer ada8000 to the soundblasters lightpipe ports can I get all 8 tracks simaltaneously?
 
I don't know specifically about that behringer, but Cubase SE does support multitrack recording.
 
Ok then it should support the behringer its an adat lightpipe machine.
 
Yes, simply route every input to a different track and record enable every track (the round red button in the left panel of every track, near the Solo and Mute buttons).
 
Keep in mind that a lightpipe connector does not mean "ADAT optical". It may well be a 2 channel lightpipe s/pdif connection.
 
yeah i have seen that before but the soundcard has the rca style spdif inputs so i would assume that the optical ins are adat lightpipe, but as with most things i'm probably wrong
 
the rca plugs you mention can also carry a digital signal. You might indeed be wrong ;)
 
I would be surprised to find out that it did have ADAT lightpipe. Often times manufactureres now will put both types of s/pdif connector on products. That way it is compatible with more units (some units only have one or the other). I can see your logic though, and it is quite possible that your card does have ADAT optical and I am wrong:D
 
It is optical spdif. Kinda disappointing but what should I expect from a sound blaster.
