Does anyone have any experience creating impulses?

This is an example of one of the impulses I did last night, the smaller rooms seem to be ok but the room that are more reverberant sound gated. Plus this example is with the "stretch" knob dimed. Am I converting this wrong? I used the sine wav sweep technique and voxengo deconvolver.

This is a large empty apartment (open floor plan, it's a studio) with 16'+ ceilings (they arch up) and one brick wall so I thought it would be a cool space to capture. My audio file has none of the superior 2.0 room sounds on it, there is also no gate or any processing on the impulse file other than like I said I have the stretch knob in SIR 2 dimed.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to cut the sine wav longer (the recorded one not the one I recorded)?

It's easiest to hear on some of the middle section double kick stuff when the snare isn't doing as much. Listen for the reverb tail on the snare hits.
