hay yer im after so free recording/mixing software. id like to just use at least four track of audio. yer just anything really..... :)

you could try Audacity, that's free. just do a google search on free multitrack software, there's a fair few of them..
 
If you don't like Audacity, try Kristal. Both are free to download and use. Audacity is a little easier to get the hang of using.
