Does any one know much about automated patch bays?

I’ve looked into the CM Labs PM216 and Sound Sculpture's Switchblade GL. The price is right for the PM216 but it doesn’t have the ability to merge inputs (what were they thinking?). I think they must have left this out just so they could sell it cheaper. The Switchblade has everything I would want, but not at the price they’re sellin it. Then there’s the old Audio Matrix, which is hard to find info about. It’s kinda bulky though, and I’d like to have something I can gig with. For all the looking I’ve done, these are the only three I’ve found. Does anyone know if there are others out there?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think it is that unusual that the 216 won't mix inputs to outputs, that's pretty standard for a patchbay. The Audio Matrix is the same way. You can easily mult inputs to outputs, but not mix them. Non-automated patchbays work this way as well.

I used to own three of the Audio Matrix AM-16 patchbays, two of the unbalanced version and one balanced. They are good solid pieces of equipment. Do you have any specific questions regarding them? It's been a while since I owned them, but I may be able to answer your questions.

What do you mean "mult inputs"? I'm not familliar with the term.

It means you send a single input to multiple outputs.
