Does ALTO Electronics make good stuff?

I haven't heard it, but I believe they're working on the same principle as Behringer. But they can't possibly be any worse in quality or customer service. They're probably a better bet, if the features are right for you.

It's probably the same stuff with a different packaging and brand name. Just more cheap crap. Check out the cheap yamaha MG series if you need a small mixer.

I found these reviews for Alto equipment on Direct Pro Audio's website.

Granted, they sell the stuff but the reviews seemed genuine and all of them are positive. Alto claims they make their products in their own factory unlke Behringer who contracts them out. None of the reviews are for the mixer I'm looking at but the S-8 is reviewed and seems to be pretty similar.

Alto had been an OEM company for years. They make equipment for DBX and a few other companies. So I think you'll see a better reliablity than Behringer. Another company to watch is Wharfedale which has made OEM speaker for companies like EAW and Community. They are offering their pwn stuff now for cheap.

I've already ordered the S-6 so I'm glad to hear it might be better than the Behringer. What is OEM?
