Do you use Cubase' EQ knobs or EQ Plugins?

Which do you use?

I'm sort of a newbie so I like to see a linier graph of what Im EQ'ing to get a good idea. So with that said I preffer to use something like renEQ-6 rather than the knobs that come on each track in Cubase SX.

What do you use and why? In your opinion, are Cubase's track EQ's of good sonic quality as compared to somthing like the wavs plugin?

Once I train my ear to the freq I want to isolate, I may like useing the knobs, but for now I like hoggin up precious processing power....

thanks guys!

Why don't you buy me the waves plugins and I'll let you know. :D I don't hear anything wrong with the stock eq. Maybe other plugins add some flavor or something.

I lucked out, i got Cubase SX and a bunch of plugin bundles from a guys wife. He ran off to Europe with a girl he was recording, a few months later she asked me if i wanted some of the 'stuff' he left behind. I gave here a few bucks and got SX the dongle, and three differany bundles of wavs plugins in the boxes that he had gotten through a promotion...

Got a slick deal indirectly from a creepy dude. =]

This is SX3, so an earlier version may not have that, but there it is.

I don't really get Steinberg (makers of cubase) as far as their EQ goes. They implement all these options for the EQ that's hardwired (for lack of a better term) in every channel, with the ability to see the curve in the mixer view, in the rightside panel in the sequencer, and whatnot. However, the sound if way below decent. At first you might not notice, but after a while, it become apparent that it really isn't that good an EQ.

The Waves Q plugins are already much better, but the RenEQ really kicks the Cubase EQ's butt. I try to use that one all the time (although it's a CPU hog).
