Do you hear any distortion in this mix / tell me what genre this is

Hey everyone. I'm in the process of recording backing tracks for a solo vocalist. This is the first track that he's purchasing, however, i'm not sure if everythings correct. For instance, do you hear any distortion on the "digital" bass drum or the "miced" snare drum? I need a second opinion...thanks

furthermore, I'm not sure if I really like or dislike this music. I don't even know what genre it is...but I wrote it all myself. Tell me if I should kill myself and never do it again, or if it's good enough to sell to a client. Honesty hurts, but it's what i'm asking for. thanks

I think it's pretty good. I'm not a big fan of the electronica type drums, but if you like that style they sound fine to me. I didn't notice any distortion.

The genre is hard to pinpoint. The drums make me lean toward hip hop/ electronica. But the guitars sound more rock or heavy metal. I would say maybe nu-metal/electronica? But what do I know? :cool:
 
yeah that's pretty much my thought. I'm really not a fan of electric or digital instruments either. this was a first for me, but it's business. thanks for the reply
