I LOST THE GAME
I've considered micing an amp and line 6. I've already heard your guy's opnion in the other thread about which one. If I used Line 6 Pod studio, do i still need to plug it into the an interface? THANKS and btw im not trolling.

The "Pod Studio" line, are all audio interfaces. You don't need another interface to record.

The UX1 for example will give you 2 channels of simultaneus recording.

In one channel, you just plug your guitar and load the effects chain that best fits your style, and in the other channel just plug a microphone and rock out.

wait... so is that the recording software, too? Does it connect with Pro tools?

I believe the Pod Studios come with a Lite version of Ableton which will get you started recording.

Don't bother with Pro Tools. Check out Reaper instead, you can use the full program for free, they trust you to pay the license fee if you continue using and it is a LOT more reasonable than any other DAW software.

PROTOOLS 9 is the latested version that now works with other interfaces.

Previous versions only work with their hardware/interfaces

Try this trick:

Plug your guitar into a Direct box then THRU to amp. regular instrument cables. Mic the Amp into channel 1
connect the direct box XLR out to channel 2 and select the pod farm/model you like.

Track both tracks at once.........mix them together or use which ever is best............try with bass too.

Its a neat trick even going clean off the Direct box then you can change the model you like later.
That way if you get a good recording (no mistakes but don't like the tone or model used) you can experiment later without re tracking it.
