Do not listen to this

I just wanted to let you know I've tried to DL several of your tunes to review. But I review stuff at work, and for some reason at work that dropbox site doesn't get through the firewall. Most music sites do.

Anyway, I tried.

thats shite...i have difficulties with a few sites every now and then myself

I always stick them on soundcloud in my sig once folks have given me a bit of feedback..i think the quality is pretty much the same there too

Well, I did what you told me and did not listen to it. So, that means I really don't have a comment on it. I can't tell you that I thought it was good or slightly unusual. I also am not able to say that it would fit into some weird indy film.

If I did listen to it, I would probably say it was very cool and I think you have a lot of creativity.

But without actually hearing it.... well, you know. :p

peace,

peace,

thats a shame because I would liked to have thanked you for taking the time out to listen to something so long and quite uneventful and that comments on the mix from folks of your stature are pretty important to me.

Id also have mentioned that it doesnt take a great deal of imagination to come up with stuff like this, it just has to be processed well or folks give up on it pretty quickly during listening..

If only I handnt put that stupid title up and you had listened :D

cheers dodge......

i have no idea what trippy is as my body is a temple..... :)

Love the drums in the first part. Cool mix and progression. Poor William Shatner...

he is a fucking nutter isnt he?...I wish i had that whole song..I should look for it, I just had that sample lying around from ages ago...tape recorder to a speaker dealio :)

thanks for listening mate :D

i was being modest...ive been composing this and out in the field recording raindrops since...since...when did Diana die again?

:D

Ha! The tune's in your signature link as well.

Ok...what's this stuff called? :D
I used to do demented stuff like this in the 80's armed with nothing more than a Korg DSS-1 and a Roland MT-32 module.:drunk:
It's fucking relentless...the oppressive noise swells as a canvas is a cool idea. The first 4 minutes of this kick ass, dude...the last 4 minutes have a Kraftwerk meets Synergy feel to it...I dig it....but 7:38 is a cry for help. Actually, that would've been cool laid under the transition @ 4:20!:D

Very cool stuff KC. I'm diggin the other tunes you've got there as well.

hey Teysha...thanks man...thats actually a great idea...i should have maybe taken the first few bars of tambourine man and maybe introduced them earlier, shoulda thought of that

youre the only one that mentioned kraftwerk and thats exactly what it was meant to sound like (circa autobahn)...one of my favourite bands...I think the style would just be ambient or chillout, its meant to be a brief storm passing overhead, with a cry for help at 7.38..so it works i think :)

Yeah, the last section prior to Shatner just screamed Kraftwerk.:) I got turned on to them via Trans-Europe Express and went backward to discover Autobahn. I've always kinda kept them in the back of my mind.
You did them justice for sure.

unless you have 10 minutes you dont need and dont care that you cant get back ;)

just recorded this over the weekend (been up since 6 mixing it lol) and its not going to be manys (anybodys) cup of tea :D

for those that do plough through, im mixing this on headphones pretty much, wifes got a bit of work, so far not sure if

-the guitar part is way too harsh
-its too light in the LFs when the synth part comes in, not really meant to be a dance track or anything though
-im thinking of doing some real handclaps over the chanting/vocals but Im not sure it needs it

for all those that open the link, good luck lol..its called "Dark Sky"

I'll type while I listen... This is fun listening to this build... nice and spooky. OK, chant just came in. I'd consider bumping it up a little, or fatten it. Or both. the jangly bell/tambo percussion on the left pan kind of dominates a little...

love the "analogueness" of it...

Drums just came in. They are a little shrill. 4khz-8khz. The square wave sequencer bit may be a little harsh too, not much, it's just a little juxtaposed in contrast to the downbeat hits every other bar...

If there's a guitar in this that I've missed, it means it's so harsh and distorted as to be unrecognizable as a guitar...

OK, love the section when it gets sparser and the square wave goes away.

OK, wow, Shatner???? Yer a nut. :D You just wanted to see who'd go all the way, right? :D :D

yup...shatners the bonus lol...thanks for the comments, might revisit it later and tweak it...already finishing something else now, the heady world of electronica :)

glad you made it through though :D
