Thanks BP

no not really meant for a club...or normal listening lol

maybe if you're a bit wasted, which considering I haven't been in a long is not something I can comment on ;)

Glad the mix is fine, only my second one on a new monitoring set up...but seemed really straightforward...samples and synths really dont give you the kind of headache trad bands do...thank fuck, Id rather be making it than trying to get a decent tone out of a guitar..I just stick it in a pedal then smash it to fuck lol

I see you've got a new mix up, Ill give it a listen to later mate..on my netbook just now, it was a good tune I seem to remember, did you ever get a listen to the Bees?

this is one of my favourites..very 60's tinged

Sorry I didn't catch that one man. I'll look for it. Sometimes I get so busy I'm not able to check out the new songs posted here. When I'm gone for a week or more then come back I miss a lot of stuff :spank:

yeah depending on how busy tracks get wiped of the front page pretty quickly

unless you answer peoples post that probably arent even asking for an answer

like this

:D

Yup. Good stuff. I don't know if I could listen to it over and over, but it makes for pretty good brain-juice for background music.

The ending is.... odd. I like the journey, though.

Guitar part too harsh.... Uhh... what guitar part? Nothing seemed harsh.
LF during techno part too light? Yeah, maybe. I'm on headphones, too, but it did seem like the bottom-end could use some more beef.
Hand-claps? Nah.. I like it how it is.

All in all, this is awesome considering it was a weekend project. Kudos, Keith.

As soon as I can get clients to quit coming into the studio, I'll start writing my own music again. I miss my guitar.... :(

the screeching noise in between the chants and the tech is my guitar lol

not meant to be much more than chillout stuff...so it kinda works, maybe not mellow enough to be ambient though...

Thanks for listening mate...i think the bottom end could probably do with some adjustment, by asking the question I think I was probably telling myself

:)

Kc...

this is flippin great. I like the atmosphere and the percussion at the intro.

Can't comment on the mix too much i only dabbled a bit in something like this.

The guitars if anything are being eaten by eveything else? But its there and adds to the atmosphere for sure.

The song itself is right up my alley. I like the vibe. It is definitely something i enjoy up until the techno stuff half way through. but even that was o.k.

Id be intrested in an Mp3 version for when i do my long distance long board trips!

can you down load it from the soundcloud link in my sig? i think it should allow it...if not ill stick it up on reverbnation

thanks man...I didnt think you'd like this kinda stuff...I like it as I just like to listen to sounds that dont really go anywhere sometimes, but its a bit of a liberty if you're asking others to listen to it :)

appreciate the listen and comments AB

Do you know how much I make an hour?!?!?!? Can you divide by six and figure out how much I make in ten minutes?!??! I demand a refund!

(Please send $1.09 to PO Box 123, My Town, USA)

Okay seriously. Pretty darn cool. Very textured with a lot of textured depth. I think someone else said cinematic--that's an apt description. I've tried this sort of thing before--looking for an interlude to some of my more mainstream stuff, and I just don't have the patience to build the soundscape like this. Very impressive!

thanks WS.....yeah thats what i was looking for, something you would have inbetween tracks or at the end of something...everything i record gets further and further up the bpm scale...

glad it worked, the fortunate thing for me is i can do these pretty quickly...years of mushrooms, stoned, KLF, Jarre, BBC sound effects albums has conditioned me...though it would get pretty stale if i posted them here every week..Greg already thinks my 3 min songs are 3 mins too long :D

and $1.09..you earn 6 times more than i do..Ill speak to the Royal Bank of Wife lol

nicely recorded.. the tabla stuff gets boring after awhile and a video to distract from the repetition would help. I think the "space" and verbs are excellent. Great sound fx.

the new age, Alan Parsons stuff is nice with the synths. There are some great ideas in here, but get overplayed too long and to keep the interest, need to keep changing.

The recording is really nice, but I imagine most of this is prerecorded stuff and samples and more of an assembly job.

entertaining... it was worth the time while surfing, to listen.

Thanks for the comments on the mix..

now where did i put my loops CD for my next tune

lol @ how pissed of i got

The verbs are just TC electronics on their powercore...they are lush..just much better than usual vst ones i think

Im not sure Id change it...its kinda meant to be long and repetitive...more background music than anything else..I dont think it would work any other way tbh

the vocals were layered Francesca Genco samples using Kontakt..and the ethnic drums were from the Darbuka vsti...but the rest is played...even the birds were recorded from my own indoor avery I keep so I dont ever have to use bird samples ;)

Damn KC. You are posting songs left and right and I can't even come up with a single good idea at the time. I think the best thing I like about this song and some of the others you post is that my favorite song, back in like the 80's, was Axel F. I don't know if you know the tune, but I loved the hell out of that song because of all the effects and how well it sounded. I think you got that same kind of know how about where to go with your music.

Another thought about it...

The beginning sounded like something that would be great for the beginning of one of those Saw movies. What are they on like Saw 13 now or something, I haven't watched since like Saw II but it seems like it is leading up to something amazing and it does because the rest is pretty cool. Definitly worth the time to listen here. Great song dude.

Keep em' comin'.

Axel F...yup that was beverly hills cop wasnt it?

Im 43, i remember too many 80's synth tunes, thats why i cant get anything to sound modern :D

Thanks trump...I churn out so many because this is my job at the moment, 8 hours a day 7 days a week...and its damned easier to sit at a desk and plug away at keyboards than what some of you guys do. I record my guitars etc as well I just dont really post them as...well they're shite lol

btw best purchase was UAD cards....frees up your PC so you can stick on as many effects as you want and not be dictated by the CPU, and they are cheap as fook just now with folks upgrading to uad-2 cards

started another today <facepalm> :laughings:

forgot while you're mentioning Saw i watched an excellent low budget sci fi film called Hunter Prey, brilliant soundtrack, but it also sounded like it was something a homerecorder could tackle (obviously not to that level) so my cousin works in in a film school in LA and im going to see if I can maybe soundtrack some of the students short films..worth a try I reckon...and I dont mind investing in some more software..dunno

I found a copy of the KLF's White Room yesterday - it is a Cd copy but pretty badly scratched with some rotation scrapes as well so was guaranteed to judder quite a bit even after a clean up & scratch repair. NEARLY bought it anyway but as I have a copy already i figured I'd not waste the time trying to fix it - it was hard to walk away.
Those boys certainly brought rock & dance VERY close together & they played fast & loose with irony in such a way as to be almost impossible to discern the line between pastich & pisstake.
Back to the topic at hand. I listened again - drat!
When do you plan to do the newbie HR thing & drop a post announcing your brand new album and ask about how to make the liner notes louder as well as how to promote said tome on the pub trivia comp circuit?

You know what man....you and you avatar freak me out! I dont know what to think about you!!!
Lurked around here for about a year...been posting for a couple months...listened to a lot of stuff here...your stuff is not usually my cup of "earl grey"...even though the quality is always good....this however was really cool.
Because I dont play covers in a bar anymore, and I am trying to be a more creative person, Ive been trying to find music to listen to and gain inspiration from that takes me on a musical journey (a trip). This took me on a musical journey!!
I like how everything segued (sp?) together..very clever!
Thanks for sharing!!

yup the KLF, or justified ancients of mu mu ;), are always going to be an inspiration...same with early shamen stuff..if you ever get the chance try to hear In Gorbachev We Trust...they werent always a crappy rave band

I have a digital copy of White Room...still makes the playlist every now and then :)

no album...Im still nowhere near good enough...but Ive still got over a dozen sketches that may be usable, a couple out on collabs and a new tune in the making...got to try and sound more modern I reckon so Ive been listening to as much as i can..i think a new synth is on the cards

got an awesome sound mangling plugin yesterday..top secret and shall be used on everything lol

My musical soulmate and I have rediscovered one another after going our seperate musical ways for 15 years...We are in the process of writing probably the best music known to man kind :D .....its kinda taking a while!!!! We have about 10 solid ideas but none of them finished...I would love to post but there is no sense in posting uncompleted songs (imo)...I will WITHOUT A DOUBT post here when we have something worth commenting on!!! In the mean time...Im just enjoying the community and the music here and gaining knowledge and inspiration at the same time...LOVE IT

I just wanted to let you know I've tried to DL several of your tunes to review. But I review stuff at work, and for some reason at work that dropbox site doesn't get through the firewall. Most music sites do.

Anyway, I tried.
